From some 17,000 pages of art history books, Masterpiece Cards determined which famous paintings are most often cited. Then we used this HUGE database of art paintings and the number of citations each got to determine the top 250.  Masterpiece Cards were born,  about 250 famous paintings. Those in the Louvre are bold-faced type.
